About

Welcome to Harborcreek Hockey

The Harborcreek Huskies Hockey Club (HHHC) was founded in 1990 to give all students from 6th to 12th grade the opportunity to play quality, competitive hockey at the high school level.  The HHHC is an independent organization not affiliated with, or funded by, the Harborcreek School District or Harborcreek Township.  We rely solely on registration fees, fundraising, donations, and sponsors to meet our operating expenses.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to grow our club by making sure all families feel proud to be associated with us.  We need to make sure everyone feels welcome, our performance by the kids, coaches, and fans respects the game and all that is on the ice.

Program Philosophy

Maintain consistent and uniform teaching of individuals skills, situational strategies and team policies progressively from Freshman to Varisity. In addition to the game itself, expectations for competitiveness, sportsmanship, teamwork, a winning attitude and personal development are equally important.

Doug Bemiss begins his first season as varsity head coach.  He began playing hockey locally at age 7 and continued into Division III college.  In the mid 90’s he assisted with local travel programs and high school teams, before becoming a USA Hockey official with Erie Ice Refs in 1999.  When his son Dylan began playing, he resumed coaching Select and Travel teams before joining as an assistant with Harborcreek.

Dan Morris did not start playing hockey until the age of 27 but has been playing ever since.  He has been coaching his son Zacks' teams since Zack started playing at the age of five.  Prior to that, he also coached his step-son, Joe Collins, and his youth hockey teams.  Last year he assisted Joe Perino in coaching the Huskies freshman team.  He welcomes the new challenge of coaching at the varsity level and looks forward to a successful year with this young but hard working team.

Chris Work began skating on a pond across the street from my parents house when I was 6.  Started EYHA at age 8.  Played EYHA house and select teams till high school.  Played 4 years of varsity hockey for Harborcreek.  Lettered and captained all 4 years.  Took a break from hockey till I began coaching in 2007.  Coached Timbits house, achieved a level 3 USA hockey coach.  Became Timbit house league director for 2 years.  Continue to play adult league hockey.

This is his first year as the middle school head coach. He comes from a long tradition of Erie hockey starting with my grandfather Robert Williams who was one of the founding fathers of EYHA. My father Greg Williams was one of the first Erie Lions. I followed through the ranks as a player and am now a level 3 Hockey USA coach. I have 7 years experience as a coach and director of house league. I am a current resident of Harborcreek and a proud 1st year assistant coach of Harborcreek Huskies hockey.

Steve Woods has played ice hockey since 1997.  He has coached Timbits hockey for 6 years and has also coached soccer, football and lacrosse.
